Post 7: Current Issue
Being
a woman in 2018:
Even after the feminist movement that took place this
year, we are still judged for not being the way men and society want us to be. If
there’s a strong, powerful and fearless woman, that’s still wrong for some
people, and women are called “inconvenient”, a topic that had been taken by
women all around the world, but I heard about it when an artist that I love wrote
a poem about being an inconvenient woman.
Halsey, an american singer, wrote a poem about
different situations that women are caught up this days, and how speak out our
voices, opinions and expressing our feelings is still being judged by the rest
of the world, leading to call women inconvenient, referring that some behaviours
are still badly seen, even in 2018.
For me this issue is important because first, I’m a
woman living in a time when existing is an everyday battle, and with social
media is easier to be judged. But also I choose it because I feel like even
though the constant fights happening all around the globe, society doesn’t make
a big change and nothing really changes.
If your listen to Halsey’s poem (link will be down
this paragraphs), you can relate to what she’s saying there. I’m such a strong
woman in some way, I always speak my mind out and say whatever I have to, but
also I’ve live with depression and demons on my mind, and I’ve judged for the
same reason, I’ve judged for being an inconvenient woman for my age and my
reality.

The topic of the poem it's very hard. But I didn't like the poem by itself :(
ResponderBorrarI love Halsey. Earlier this year she was at the women's march in NYC and read a poem of hers about being abused. It really hit me
ResponderBorrarThe problem is not the feminism. The problem is the way the society is made. We can raise a new generation used to freedom , equality and respect. But first we need people to get to understand what feminism wants to achieve, most of the people that don't agree to it it's because they have a wrong meaning to it.
ResponderBorrarI'm sure that the increase of the feminist movement in this 2018 will be on the history books in the future. <3
